Nasamat is a collection of spiritual odes penned by saints, scholars and lovers, sung from land to land.

Songs in Nearing Arrival, Unto Love of Allah & His Messenger presents poetry and song ranging from being composed in the presence of the Prophetic light ﷺ by Hassan ibn Thabit, through to the early generations with the likes of ‘Ali ibn al-Hussain Zain al-’Abidin, Rabi’ah Adawiyyah and Abu Hanifah, then crowned by the unparalleled works of Shu’ayb Abu Madyan, ‘Umar Ibn al-Farid, Abu’l-Hasan ash-Shushtari, setting the standard for all luminaries after their time—an-Nabulusi, al-Haddad, ar-Rawwas, Shawqi, al-’Alawi, ibn al-Habib, ash-Shaghuri and others, may Allah be well pleased with them all.

Delve amongst their ink in hopes of sharing in their experiences. Ponder their words upon exquisite melodies in search of their states—take their songs as a means in nearing arrival.

“The Folk have arrived unto the presence of their Lord,

its beauty appeared for them visibly,

Invited by the wine-bearer, they attend obeyingly,

Here we are, oh You who invites us to Beauty!”

— Sh. Abi Bakr bin Salim [d. 992/1583]
